Men’s Advance (2012)

The Men’s Advance

“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17

Join us here in the St. Louis area for the Men’s Leadership Advance scheduled for Friday and Saturday (February 10-11,2012). The vision for our annual Men’s Conference is to educate and encourage Christian men to fulfill their God-given calling as leaders in the home, and to better prepare them to serve as leaders within Christ’s Church.

THEME FOR 2012
Our theme is “Heroes: Why we must have them, and why we must tell their stories.” This is based on Psalm 78:4 “We will not hide them from our children, but tell the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.”

ACTIVITIES & SPECIAL EVENTS
Besides six speaking sessions, we will provide small group discussions, four delicious meals, encouraging Christian fellowship, and some fun activities. At the close of this year’s Men’s Advance we will serve a dinner for the entire family. Registrants to the Men’s Advance have no extra cost for the dinner—this meal is included in your initial registration fee. An extra fee will be charged to cover expenses for additional family members. This will be followed by a heart-warming concert given by the talented Winton family on Saturday evening (7 PM). It’s a free concert for the whole family!

SPEAKERS
We have two fine speakers this year—both are mature Christian men who have served as Church leaders, faithful husbands, and apologists for the Reformed faith.

Dr. Morecraft has degrees from King College, BA; from Columbia Theological Seminary, MDiv; and from Whitefield Theological Seminary, MTh and ThD.

–Dr. Marcus J. Serven is the Pastor of Covenant Family Church in Troy, Missouri. He and his wife Cheryl have been blessed with nine children, three of whom are now married. Marcus delights in telling the remarkable stories of God’s providence in his sermons & articles. He recently finished his doctoral work on the pastoral theology of John Calvin. Dr. Serven has degrees from the University of California, BA; from Fuller Theological Seminary, MDiv; and from Covenant Theological Seminary, ThM and DMin.
