Practice resumes today after the worship service. See Rebecca Serven if you have any questions. The Fall Recital is scheduled for Thursday, November 20th, 7 p.m. at the Steinway Piano Gallery at 12031 Dorsett Road near Highway 270.

For the month of November our hymn is #363 “We Gather Together”. This very moving hymn from the Reformation era was written during the brutal invasion of Holland by Spain. It is a picture of how our sovereign God rules and reigns over His kingdom.

All of those interested in a field trip to see the Dental Theater show at Laclede’s Landing on Friday, November 14th (11:00 a.m.) please contact Angie Hamann to let her know if you plan to come, or for more information.

All men and boys are welcome to join in on November 8th at the Serven home (8-12 noon) to listen to the theological presentations by Neal Bringe, Jeff Hamann, Marc Houghton, and Pastor Serven. Sign up today; breakfast will be served at 8 a.m.

In two weeks, on Nov. 1st at midnight, the time will return to standard time. Be sure to set your clocks back one hour–”Spring forward and Fall back”.

Following our fellowship meal on Sunday, October 19th we will hold a Bible Quiz on Micah and the Lord’s Supper Series. Study questions are now available!

For October we have chosen a very familiar hymns, #353, “I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord”. It was written by Dr. Timothy Dwight, the gifted grandson of Jonathan Edwards, during a time of spiritual decline in America. Thankfully, the Lord turned this around by an outpouring of his Spirit in the 2nd Great Awakening!

We are working our way through this very fine catechism from the Reformation (1563). Previous week’s selections are to be found on the information table. Here is an opportunity for a short course in Christian doctrine. Take the challenge!

The Covenant Children’s Chorus is resuming for the fall semester! The CCC will meet on Sunday after the worship service for 20-30 minutes in the choir room. We will be learning a 2 part song, “Rejoice in the Lord Always”. The CCC is open to children ages 6 years old through before their voice deepens. Please talk to Rebecca Serven with any question regarding your children’s involvement. Practices start on Sunday, October 5th. Subsequent practices include: October 12th and 19th (no practice on the 26th), and November 2nd, 9th, and 16th. The Thanksgiving Music Recital will be the Friday before Thanksgiving, November 21st, at 7:00 p.m.
